How to use this resource
Select and download the school font required for your class.
Print the poem and accompanying pages. Make multiple copies of the cut-out/rebuild pages and cut into strips.
As a class, read the poem aloud while focusing on the rhythm and rhyme.
Display and discuss the large print pages, discuss the rhyming words, poem structure and punctuation.
Ask the children to rebuild the poem using the cut-out/rebuild strips and stick into their books.
What comes next?… Use the task card to explore verbs, nouns and adjectives within the poem. Change the adjectives in the poem and see how it changes the message of the poem.
