How to use this resource

  • Print a copy for each child in the class. Alternatively, print and laminate a class set to be used again with a removable marker.
  • The children roll a dice and record the number rolled on the dice in the first circle, on the left-hand-side of their worksheet. The children then work out how much more is needed to make ten and record the number in the second circle. For example, 4 + 6 = 10.
  • The children then record the reverse operation on the right-hand-side of their worksheet. For example, 10 – 6 = 4.
  • What comes next? – Instead of a dice, use number cards from 0 to 9.
