A great opportunity for children to create their own little books – become authors and illustrators.
Differentiate their sentences by encouraging to add adjectives, descriptive words and info to their sentences or keep them really simple.
Make a class large size book with each child adding 1 page, or use for each child to create their own individual book – see more of how to use here.
Enlarge, or reduce the size of the book as needed… or keep as A4 pages.

Brainstorm and list animals with scales as a whole class – reptiles and fish – eg. lizards, snakes, crocodiles, goldfish, bearded dragons, anaconda, whales, stingrays, turtles, dinosaurs.
Discuss how animals with scales are cold blooded and lay eggs – this could even be incorporated into the little book – eg. What has scales? Cold blooded animals that lay eggs have scales.
Don’t forget to make a large class copy (usually the coloured one) to have on hand in the class library – each child completes one page for the class copy.
