Place Value Puzzle

A puzzle to help children learn about two-digit numbers and their representations.


  • Ideal to use in numeracy group rotations or as an independent warm up activity.
  • Children match two-digit numbers with their MAB representations and place value.

How to use this teaching resource

  • Print, then individually cut and laminate each puzzle piece.
  • Children match three place value puzzle pieces to represent a two-digit number.
  • What would come next – After solving each puzzle, children can order the numbers from smallest to largest. Alternatively, encourage children to use MAB material to make each number.
