Select the school font you would like to use and download the PDF below.
Print a copy for each student and cut each page in half. Staple the pages together to make a small book.

Select a reading book.
Students are required to answer the questions about that book in their concept book.
There is also space for them to draw their favourite part of the book.

Students who require assistance could work through and fill out the questions as a group or with an adult supervisor.
Students who require extension can chose books that will extend their reading. Blank pages could also be added to their concept book for them to create new characters, provide an alternative ending, write the story from another character’s perspective etc.

HOW TO USE OUR PRINTABLE CONCEPT BOOKS
Model with a large A3 size booklet first – read and share a book with the class – answer the questions as a class first.
An ideal follow-up activity to guided reading – as part of literacy rotations or groups.
Instead of making into a book – print at ‘multiple pages per sheet’ print 4 in 1 – instructions here…here is the result…
ALL 4 PAGES PRINTED ON 1 A4 SHEET (PRINTER SETTINGS 4 PAGES PER SHEET)
ALL 4 PAGES PRINTED OVER 2 A4 SHEETS (PRINTER SETTINGS – 2 PAGES PER SHEET)
Would also be a great homework activity – children read a book from home or their home reader and next night fill in the little book.
