Try teaching the idea of writing an introduction about just one activity on the weekend, not the whole weekend.

Following this introduction, teach children about time connectives which will allow the student to clarify their writing and their meaning within each new sentence.

This is great for kinders who are at the beginning end of writing, but also can be used in any grade thereafter.

Yesterday I went to the park.
First I packed my lunch in my bag.
Then I got in the car with my dad.
Next we arrived at the park. It was crowded.
Then I ran to the swings.
Finally it was time to go home.
After I got home I was really tired, but I had so much fun.

This can also be used for any type of procedural recount as well.
